Soccer Recap: Providence Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Providence can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Providence couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Payton Dragone, who's now up to 18 this season.

Providence moved to 17-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Hickory Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-1-1.

Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickory Ridge, they will challenge Myers Park at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hickory Ridge's defense better be ready for this one: Myers Park have averaged an impressive 4.4 goals per game this season.
