Basketball Recap: Chetopa Comes Up Short

The matchup between Chetopa and Yates Center on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Chetopa Hornets lost 68-47 to the Yates Center Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Chetopa's record is now 0-5. As for Yates Center, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chetopa will venture away from home to take on Altoona-Midway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yates Center, they are taking a road trip to square off against Oswego at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oswego is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
