Basketball Recap: Fairmont Comes Up Short

Fairmont suffered their closest defeat since January 5th on Friday. They fell just short of the Jackson County Central Huskies by a score of 52-49. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Jackson County Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairmont and St. Clair will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson County Central, they will challenge Montevideo at 4:15 p.m. on December 30th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Montevideo has won four straight at home, while Jackson County Central won ten straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
