Baseball Recap: Blair Comes Up Short

Blair was the 3-2 winner over Churchill when they last played one another on April 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The Blazers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday.

Blair got a good showing from William Brady, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Brady has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Dylan Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Blair is 3-1 when Anderson posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

Blair has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Churchill, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.

Coming up, Blair will venture away from home to take on Whitman at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Churchill, they will take on Walter Johnson on Friday.
