Softball Game Preview: Dexter Dreadnaughts vs. Grass Lake Warriors

The Dexter Dreadnaughts will head out to square off against the Grass Lake Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Monday, Dexter made easy work of Skyline and carried off an 18-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Dreadnaughts in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Grass Lake came out on top against Addison on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 9-0 shutout. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Lily McVicker (2029), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Mikayla Jurek (2029) was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Grass Lake hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Dexter's record is now 2-0. As for Grass Lake, their record now sits at 4-0.

Dexter came up short against Grass Lake in their previous matchup back in June of 2025, falling 10-6. Can the Dreadnaughts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
