Softball Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Beaver Beavers
The Bellaire Big Reds will be playing at home against the Beaver Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Bellaire finally turned things around against East Liverpool on Thursday. Bellaire blew past East Liverpool 16-2. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bellaire yet this season.
Marissa Pacifico made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Pacifico has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Pacifico was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
