Winter Haven had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Sebring Blue Streaks on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since March 25, 2024.

Leyla Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reagan Barrett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

Winter Haven's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Sebring, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Coming up, Winter Haven will be playing in front of their home fans against George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sebring, they will head out to take on Hardee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
