Basketball Recap: Wallowa Comes Up Short

Wallowa was the 42-21 winner over Elgin when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Wallowa Cougars were outmatched by the Elgin Huskies and fell 42-15. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Wallowa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Elgin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wallowa Cougars take on the Union Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Wallowa surely won't give up without a fight. Elgin has already played their next contest (against Powder Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
