Preview: Crowley Eagles vs. Trinity Trojans
Crowley is 1-0 against Trinity since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Crowley Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Trinity Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Crowley is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Thursday, everything went Crowley's way against Paschal as Crowley made off with a 48-28 win. The result was nothing new for Crowley, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Caleb Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 373 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Johnson, who picked up 144 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Trinity blew past Chisholm Trail, posting a 68-13 victory at home. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Chisholm Trail is ranked 781st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crowley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Crowley skirted past Trinity 26-24 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Crowley repeat their success, or does Trinity have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
