Baseball Game Preview: Grafton Black Hawks vs. West Bend West Spartans

The Grafton Black Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the West Bend West Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Grafton nor West Bend West posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Grafton fell victim to Nicolet and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Black Hawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grafton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Heinz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between West Bend West and Port Washington, and Port Washington kept the tradition alive. The Spartans fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 8th.

West Bend West's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
