Basketball Recap: Father Lopez Comes Up Short

Father Lopez was the 45-42 winner over Legacy Charter when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Father Lopez Green Wave took an 84-68 bruising from the Legacy Charter Eagles on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Green Wave have lost by exactly 16 points.

Legacy Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Khori Polarchy out in front who went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most points Polarchy has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Trevor Miller, who went 8 of 10 en route to 19 points and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Father Lopez and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Legacy Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Father Lopez has already played their next game (against Calvary Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Legacy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Legacy Charter will come in with four straight wins.
