Football Recap: Nathan Hale Piles Up the Points Against Memorial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nathan Hale). They really took it to the Memorial Chargers for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-6 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-0.

Jordan Deroin produced another solid effort throwing for 305 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in one score on the ground. Elijah Daniels was in the mix as well, providing Nathan Hale with two touchdowns.

Nathan Hale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Nathan Hale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Leeroy Wells and London Hunt. Wells got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Nathan Hale's record now sits at 3-1. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Nathan Hale and Memorial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Rangers (ranked 198th) will meet Claremore (ranked 37th) at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Memorial will face off against Del City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (224 vs. 10).
