The York Falcons will head out to take on the Tabb Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. York will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
York is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Lafayette last Wednesday as they made off with a 19-0 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 12 runs or more this season.
Tahlia Evans and Bri Petrolia were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Evans tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Petrolia pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Evans scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Petrolia got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Evans also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, York got a massive performance out of Kenlee Washington, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Washington hit this season. Another player making a difference was Leah Hunter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
York always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .895. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Tabb unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smithfield.
Tabb saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Garcia, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Tabb's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for York, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
York's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Tabb, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will York continue to outrun the ball?
York skirted past Tabb 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
