Jefferson County took a 35-point loss the last time they faced off against East Laurens, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors pulled ahead with a 14-13 photo finish over the Falcons on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington County. Despite 238 more yards than the Golden Hawks, the Patriots couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Jefferson County's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-7.
