Softball Game Preview: Fruitdale Pirates vs. Washington County Bulldogs

Fruitdale hasn't had much luck against Washington County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fruitdale Pirates will face off against the Washington County Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. Fruitdale has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Fruitdale came up short against Millry on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fruitdale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Loper, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Loper's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Washington County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to Jackson.

Fruitdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Washington County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Fruitdale might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Washington County in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Fruitdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
