Softball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Centennial won the last time they faced Desert Edge and things went their way on Thursday too. The Coyotes never let the Scorpions get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Serenity Anchondo was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emery Wilton, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Centennial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for Centennial and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Desert Edge, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Centennial will face off against ALA - Gilbert North at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Desert Edge, they will take on Verrado at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
