Basketball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale lost against River Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Chieftains came up short against the Blackhawks, falling 67-47.

When it comes to explaining why Riverdale lost, don't look at Macy McKay. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. That was a full 51.1% of the Chieftains' points, marking the third time in a row McKay has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Harris, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for River Valley, their record now sits at 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Riverdale will take on Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Valley, they will challenge Prairie du Chien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give River Valley their first taste of in-conference action this season.
