Basketball Recap: Thorp Takes a Loss

Thorp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Fall Creek Crickets and fell 71-28. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Crickets are ranked 90th).

Despite the loss, Thorp still got an impressive performance from Ashlyn Abramczak, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Abramczak is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Thorp's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fall Creek, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Thorp is set to face off against their familiar foe Elk Mound at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fall Creek will take on rival Bloomer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
