Baseball Recap: Freeman Comes Up Short

Freeman has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Caroline Cavaliers, falling 11-1. The matchup marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Freeman's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Caroline, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Freeman will square off against J.R. Tucker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.25 runs per game on average), something the Mavericks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Caroline, they will take on Eastern View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 3.3, the Cyclones 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
