If Emerald was riding high fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Southside last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Fountain Inn Fury on Monday, falling 15-3. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Emerald saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coleson Marino, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Marino launched this season. Eli Swancey was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Emerald's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Fountain Inn, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

While Emerald had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
