Softball Recap: Cass Takes a Loss

Cass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-5 to the Fort Calhoun Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Kylie Gaston and Elizabeth Harvey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gaston went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, while Harvey scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cass' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Fort Calhoun, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Aquinas the next time they take the field. Fort Calhoun will head out to face Aquinas at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Cass will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
