On Tuesday, Brandon faced Petal in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Brandon Bulldogs put the hurt on the Petal Panthers with a sharp 6-0 win. Give the Bulldogs' defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Petal from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Meryn Magee led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Brandon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three contests. As for Petal, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Brandon didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 win against Meridian on the 9th. As for Petal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Pearl on the 10th.
