Softball Recap: Springport Spartans vs. Howell Highlanders        
        
		
            
 After a string of five wins dating back to last season, Springport's good fortune finally ran out  on Saturday. They lost  14-1 to the Howell Highlanders. Springport was red-hot at the plate headed into the  matchup (they scored no less than ten  runs in the three  matches prior) but Howell's pitchers proved too tough.
 For Howell's part,  Jada Challiss was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and three  RBI while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Amelia Ott, who  went 2-for-2 with two  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Springport  fell to 3-1. As for Howell, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 9-13-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springport will take on Stockbridge at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Howell, they will be playing at home against Salem at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Howell is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
