Baseball Recap: University Prep's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

University Prep waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the South Whidbey Falcons by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on Monday.

Owen Bradley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, University Prep got a big performance out of Noah Keppler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Hawthorne Moody was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

University Prep now has a winning record of 5-4. As for South Whidbey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, University Prep is taking a road trip to take on King's at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Whidbey, they will be playing at home against Overlake at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
