Richfield is 8-2 against Emery since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Richfield Wildcats will host the Emery Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Richfield sitting on eight straight wins and Emery on five.

Last Friday, Richfield beat Manti 50-41. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Templars are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Emery strolled past Delta with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-53.

Richfield better keep an eye on West Johansen. He was instrumental in Emery's win, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Johansen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Johansen, who went 5 of 10 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Emery has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Richfield, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Richfield strolled past Emery in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 61-43. Does Richfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Emery turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
