Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reagan). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Parkland Mustangs 51-0. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Reagan found their leader in sophomore John Evans Jr., who rushed for 93 yards and three scores on only six carries. Evans Jr. is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Smith was another key player, throwing for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Reagan's defense and their three sacks. Alonzo McCoy was especially locked on to Parkland's QB and sacked him twice.
Reagan's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Parkland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Reagan will take on rival West Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Evans Jr. and Mozes Morris. Meanwhile, Parkland is set to challenge their familiar foe Northwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
