Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

If Madison was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mitchell on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots came up short against the Asheville School (Independent) Blues on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blues this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.

Eva Greer paced Madison's offense, picking up ten kills. Greer got some help from Meredith Gault and her 18 assists. Paige Peek and Kaya Bradshaw kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Among those leading the charge was Flannery Plaehn, who had ten digs and two assists.

Madison dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Asheville School (Independent), the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Avery County on the 23rd. As for Asheville School (Independent), they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on the 23rd.
