Volleyball Recap: Southwood Beats Lewis Cass for Their 22nd Straight Victory

Southwood had already won 21 in a row and they went ahead and made it 22 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lewis Cass Kings as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Southwood was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-6, 25-10.

Leading Southwood to victory were Presley Kroft and Shania Rhamy. Kroft had nine digs and two aces, while Rhamy hit 52.6% for 13 kills and 11 digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most digs Kroft has posted over her last seven matchups. Jensen Kroft also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Southwood was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.

Southwood's record is now 23-2. As for Lewis Cass, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Southwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Perry Meridian on the 11th. As for Lewis Cass, they will take on Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
