The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers will take on the Sunnyside Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Sunnyside will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Tucson High Magnet School extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Badgers came out on top against Marana by a score of 11-6.

Alyssa Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jaliyah Grigsby was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Trejo, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Grigsby wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tucson High Magnet School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The Badgers are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Sunnyside won against Marana on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers stepped up to hand Rincon/University a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Tatyana Vega was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Vega was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kasandra Alcaraz was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Bianca Cobo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Sunnyside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tucson High Magnet School hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Sunnyside struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tucson High Magnet School skirted past Sunnyside 2-0 when the teams last played last Tuesday. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
