Softball Game Preview: Chester Volcanoes vs. Los Molinos Bulldogs

The Chester Volcanoes will venture away from home to challenge the Los Molinos Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Chester fell victim to Quincy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Trojans. The Volcanoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chester saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Branch, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Los Molinos' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Burney by a score of 5-4.

Natalie Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

Chester's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Los Molinos, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 13-2-1.

Chester suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Los Molinos in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Volcanoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
