Basketball Game Preview: Hanna Golden Eagles vs. Veterans Memorial Chargers

Hanna hasn't had much luck against Veterans Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hanna Golden Eagles will square off against the Veterans Memorial Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hanna is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Monday. The match between them and San Benito didn't end well, with Hanna falling 48-32. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1233rd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 389th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Veterans Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harlingen.

Veterans Memorial's loss ended an 18-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 27-6. As for Hanna, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-21.

Hanna was dealt a bruising 72-20 loss at the hands of Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting on January 7th. Can Hanna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
