Newcomb lost to Wingate on October 7th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Skyhawks walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Skyhawks.

Newcomb had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-18.

Newcomb's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Wingate, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newcomb is set to square off against their familiar foe Tohatchi at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wingate will challenge rival Navajo Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
