Joliet West has gone 8-2 against Plainfield South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Joliet West Tigers challenge the Plainfield South Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Joliet West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 75-58 fall against Normal Community on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled against the Ironmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Plainfield South had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 66-60 win over Romeoville on Thursday.

Joliet West better focus on containing Tierra Abner and Layla Lesure as the pair were huge in Plainfield South's win. Abner posted 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Lesure dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. Lesure's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of La'Niya Willis, who scored nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Plainfield South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Plainfield South's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-16. As for Joliet West, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Joliet West came up short against Plainfield South in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 54-50. Can Joliet West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
