Football Recap: Lake Mary Prep Takes a Loss

Lake Mary Prep extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They received a blow as they fell 29-10 to the First Academy Eagles. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2017.

As for First Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games.

Henry Purvis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Rayce Teate made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Mary Prep will welcome Shorecrest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ocala Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
