Big Lake had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the North Branch Vikings get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Hornets' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five contests.

Brendan Goedker was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Conner Lundquist was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Big Lake will take on rival Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Branch is set to square off against their familiar foe Becker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
