Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Fairfield

Fairfield played against Burbank on Friday and won via forfeit.

Karli Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Kaya Lanzon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Lanzon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claudia Lucero, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burbank only posted an OBP of .143.

Fairfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Burbank, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Fairfield has already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Johnson on the 5th. As for Burbank, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 40-32 loss against Valley on the 5th.
