Volleyball Recap: Bauxite Falls Short of Brookland in the Playoffs

Bauxite and Brookland squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bauxite had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. The Miners were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bearcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Brookland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexie Schuermann led the charge by getting 17 digs. That's the most digs Schuermann has posted since back in September.

This is the second loss in a row for Bauxite and nudges their season record down to 23-11-3. As for Brookland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-14-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brookland beat Bauxite by a score of 3-1 later that day.
