Soccer Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln lost against Ames back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Railsplitters came up short against the Little Cyclones, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Ames are ranked 30th).

Lincoln has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season. As for Ames, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will welcome Indianola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ames, they will square off against Hoover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
