Mater Lakes Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Dr. Krop since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bears will head out to take on the Lightning at 3:30 p.m. Mater Lakes Academy's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Dr. Krop's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mater Lakes Academy had taken Hialeah Gardens down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Bears fell 8-3 to the Gladiators.

Mater Lakes Academy got a good showing from STEVEN LOPEZ, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. LOPEZ has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andres Gomez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dr. Krop came up short against Monsignor Pace on Tuesday, falling 16-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Lightning in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Esaul Pena was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Mater Lakes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-8-4. As for Dr. Krop, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Mater Lakes Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Dr. Krop in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
