Softball Game Preview: Smith Academy Falcons vs. Springfield Renaissance

Smith Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Springfield Renaissance since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will be playing at home against Springfield Renaissance at 4:00 p.m. Smith Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games dating back to last season.

On Monday, Smith Academy made easy work of Holyoke and carried off a 17-11 win. Fans of the Falcons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Springfield Renaissance came up short against Putnam Vo-Tech on Tuesday, falling 19-7.

Allana Jenney and Jocelyn Pe?a did some serious damage despite the final result: Jenney got on base in two of her three plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs, while Pe?a went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Buzzell, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Smith Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Springfield Renaissance, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Everything went Smith Academy's way against Springfield Renaissance when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Smith Academy made off with a 22-2 win.
