Volleyball Recap: American Heritage Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact American Heritage can now relate to. They came up short against the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Mavericks: they've now lost three in a row.

Josef Pfeiffer was a one-man wrecking crew For Archbishop McCarthy. as he had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave Pfeiffer a new career-high. Gabriel Pratts also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

American Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they will face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight.
