Recap: Wheatmore Warriors vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles

The Wheatmore Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of East Davidson by a score of 54-52. Wheatmore lost against East Davidson in their previous head to head two weeks ago, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-41 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Wheatmore had strong showings from Parker Kines, who scored 20 points, and Gavin Strickland, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Strickland also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Finley Bryant, who scored eight points along with five assists.

Wheatmore bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for East Davidson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Wheatmore will head out on the road to face off against Randleman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Davidson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Southwestern Randolph is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
