Basketball Game Preview: Edgemont Moguls vs. Philip Scotties

Edgemont hasn't had much luck against Philip recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Edgemont Moguls will head out on the road to take on the Philip Scotties at 6:00 p.m. Edgemont has given up an average of 55.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-35, which was the final score in Edgemont's tilt against Harding County last Friday. The Moguls were down 61-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Keaton Darrow, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Morse, who earned nine points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Philip was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kadoka.

Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Philip, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Edgemont took a serious blow against Philip when the teams last played back in February of 2017, falling 66-22. Can Edgemont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
