The El Rancho Dons will face off against the Santa Fe Chiefs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. El Rancho is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, El Rancho didn't have quite enough to beat South El Monte and fell 7-6.

El Rancho got a good showing from Jaelynn Barragan, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Malaya Vargas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Lesly Valdez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe fell victim to California and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 13-0 to the Condors. The Chiefs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for El Rancho, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5-1.

Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Rancho hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Santa Fe struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

El Rancho came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Does El Rancho have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
