Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Roosevelt had lost seven straight headed into Saturday's contest, but Jae Lang didn't let it get to eight. The Roosevelt Teddies blew past Hiawatha Collegiate 63-21 on Saturday thanks in part to Lang, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and eight boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Olive Maly, who posted ten points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Roosevelt's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Hiawatha Collegiate, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will face off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hiawatha Collegiate, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
