Columbus had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Houston Hilltoppers 24-6. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 42-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Houston's loss came despite strong showings from Braylin Rogers and Tychason Townsend. Rogers gained 161 total yards, while Townsend picked up 104 receiving yards and one score. Townsend's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Columbus has already played their next contest, a 28-0 defeat against Southaven on the 5th. As for Houston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 37-6 loss against Pontotoc on the 5th.
