Baseball Recap: Memorial Red Devils vs. McDonald Blue Devils

Memorial extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-10. They lost 10-0 to the McDonald Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 last Wednesday.

As for McDonald, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For McDonald's part, Jaxson Candel looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Quinn Schmidt was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brady Klockner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Memorial will host Lowellville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McDonald, they will head out on the road to take on Austintown-Fitch at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
