Softball Recap: Chewelah Takes a Loss

After flying high against Davenport on Friday, Chewelah came back down to earth. The Cougars lost 21-12 to the Gorillas on Friday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gorillas earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Savannah Acosta made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Fuller, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Chewelah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Davenport, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

While Chewelah had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
