Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Compton Early College). They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Pacific Lutheran Stingrays on Thursday. With the Rising Phoenix ahead 4-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Compton Early College's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7. As for Pacific Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Compton Early College will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Animo Leadership at 3:00 p.m. Animo Leadership will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Compton Early College surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pacific Lutheran, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Environmental Charter on January 28th.
