Basketball Recap: Yarbrough Lobos vs. Deerfield Spartans
The Yarbrough Lobos had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 75-46 win over Deerfield on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Yarbrough, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Deerfield saw an underclassman step up: Colten Musil scored 22 points along with three steals. Musil has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Michael Lira was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Yarbrough's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Deerfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Yarbrough does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Deerfield will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pawnee Heights has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
